Senior Cloud Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your Profile & DNA:

We’re looking for an experienced Sr Cloud Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) who is passionate about building modern cloud data platforms and guiding teams through cloud transformation. You will play a key role in migrating our existing SQL-based data environment to Google Cloud Platform while mentoring the team and establishing modern data engineering standards. You’ll combine hands-on technical work with leadership and coaching to help shape the future of our cloud data platform.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and support the migration of SQL Server databases and data pipelines to Google Cloud

• Provide hands-on support for data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows
• Design and implement scalable cloud-based data pipelines
• Coach and mentor team members on GCP services, architecture, and best practices
• Help transition the team from a shadow-IT approach to a structured, standards-driven cloud operation
• Establish and document best practices for cloud data engineering and platform governance

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, etc.)

• Experience migrating data platforms from SQL Server to cloud environments
• Strong experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data engineering practices
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with Informatica IDMC or similar integration tools
• Solid understanding of cloud governance, security, and operational best practices
