Job Description

Position Summary:

As a Backend Software Engineer on the Fandango ticketing platform, build and maintain the services that power our mobile app, website, and back-office tools. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that support millions of customers and partners.

You will contribute directly to the evolution of the Fandango platform, helping to build partner-focused and white-label capabilities through an API-first architecture. As part of your day-to-day work, you’ll develop and enhance integration points across internal and external systems, including emerging AI-driven features such as LLM-powered workflows and intelligent agents.

This role requires strong technical execution, thoughtful system design, and a commitment to writing clean, reliable, and maintainable code. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless ticketing experiences while continuously improving platform performance, resiliency, and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain back end software and services in accordance with established SDLC practices for applications/APIs written in C#/node.js
  • Perform code reviews and collaborate with peers on software solutions
  • Interact with Product Managers and Quality Engineers to deliver high quality, high profile software and user experiences
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, retros, sprint planning, etc.)
  • Assist in troubleshooting exercises

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • A strong understanding of software development practices and principles
  • Practical experience in one or more of the following programming languages
    • JavaScript/Node
    • C#/.NET
    • Java
  • Experience working and coding with relational databases
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git or similar)
  • Working knowledge of common networking, infrastructure, and technical security fundamentals
Preferred / Useful Qualifications

  • Professional experience as a software engineer working in a back end or full-stack capacity
  • Experience developing consumer-facing software
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience with a variety of data stores: Document databases, columnar data stores, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure or similar)
  • Familiarity with software build, release, deployment, and monitoring tools and practices
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and/or service-oriented architectures

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-Versant worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.

This position may require up to 10% travel for onsite collaboration and meetings at a Versant office location, based on the needs of the business. The final round of the interview process will be conducted in person.
