Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Director of Innovation & Commercialization to lead strategic engagements with pharmaceutical design partners and help drive the evolution of our analytics product portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, data and analytics, and client collaboration.

The Lead Director will work directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers to identify unmet business needs, test new analytical capabilities, and transform insights into scalable analytics products. Through structured discovery, proof-of-concept work, and pilot programs, this role will help translate innovation into repeatable solutions that can scale across the broader pharmaceutical ecosystem.

This position requires strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and analytical fluency. The ideal candidate will be comfortable collaborating with senior pharmaceutical stakeholders, cross-functional product and data teams, and internal leadership to bring innovative data-driven solutions from concept to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagements with pharmaceutical design partners to identify unmet needs and innovation opportunities.
  • Facilitate structured discovery and co-creation sessions that translate client challenges into scalable analytics and data-driven solutions.
  • Translate partner insights into product roadmaps and commercialization strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
  • Lead design-partner innovation programs that move from discovery to proof-of-concept development, pilot programs, and scalable product offerings.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Data, Legal, Commercial, and Strategy teams to advance innovation initiatives.
  • Drive pilot design, measurement frameworks, and governance processes that support experimentation and validation.
  • Develop business cases supporting product investment, expansion, and portfolio evolution.
  • Communicate opportunity, risk, and financial impact to senior leadership through clear executive-level presentations.
  • Ensure insights and learnings from design partnerships are institutionalized and scaled beyond individual client engagements.
  • Coach and mentor Managers in synthesizing insights and building commercialization-ready materials.

Technical & Analytical Leadership

  • Maintain strong technical fluency across modern healthcare and pharmaceutical data ecosystems to guide strategic product and commercialization decisions.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility and architectural tradeoffs alongside Product, Data, and Engineering teams.
  • Translate analytical capabilities into commercially viable solutions that deliver measurable value to pharmaceutical clients.
  • Identify scalable product opportunities while ensuring innovation initiatives avoid unnecessary customization and remain aligned with repeatable portfolio offerings.

AI & Advanced Analytics Fluency

  • Demonstrate familiarity with AI-driven analytics, machine learning-enabled products, and emerging GenAI applications.
  • Understand concepts such as LLMs, RAG architectures, and advanced analytics approaches and how they can create meaningful business impact.
  • Evaluate opportunities where advanced analytics meaningfully drive commercial and product value.

Executive Leadership & Influence

  • Communicate complex analytical and product concepts clearly to executive and board-level stakeholders.
  • Influence senior client leaders and internal executives to align around product strategy and innovation investment decisions.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous environments while guiding cross-functional teams toward strategic outcomes.
  • Lead complex decision-making processes across product, data, commercial, and legal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Data Science, Business Analytics, Informatics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in consulting, healthcare analytics, pharmaceutical services, product strategy, or client engagement leadership.
  • Client Leadership: Experience managing enterprise-level client relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Fluency: Ability to engage credibly with data scientists and technical teams to evaluate analytical capabilities and guide solution design.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate client insights and market signals into scalable product strategies and commercialization opportunities.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to pharmaceutical partner sites as needed (approximately once per month).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree preferred (MBA, Data Science, Business Analytics, Informatics, or related field).
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers or healthcare analytics products.
  • Experience leading innovation initiatives, commercialization programs, or product strategy within data-driven organizations.
