Position Overview
This assignment supports data engineering and telecommunications infrastructure projects within the network environment. The selected candidate will assist with configuring, deploying, and maintaining network hardware while ensuring the integrity of network management systems. The role involves working with routers, switches, wireless hardware, and network documentation while collaborating with senior engineers on engineering and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on data engineering and telecommunications projects under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
- Procure hardware required to complete assigned projects.
- Configure and deploy routers and switches using provisioning templates.
- Maintain data integrity in network management tools such as SolarWinds and Cisco ISE.
- Provision and deploy Cisco wireless hardware.
- Configure out-of-band terminal servers.
- Review network drawings and validate accuracy against the as-built network environment.
- Audit third-party WAN circuits to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare engineering job packages including bill of materials (BOM), network diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to network changes.
- Implement intermediate-level network changes and commission routers at substations and operations centers.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience with Cisco router and switch technology.
- Experience working with Cisco routing and switching environments.
- Experience maintaining data integrity in network management tools such as SolarWinds and Cisco ISE.
- Experience provisioning and deploying Cisco wireless hardware.
- Experience preparing engineering job packages including BOM equipment lists, network diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Experience troubleshooting network issues related to network changes.
- Experience with Cisco Telephony technologies, including Cisco Call Manager DID provisioning.
- Experience with one or more programming languages.
