Strong mechanical aptitude and process engineering skills
Experience with manufacturing equipment design, specification, requisitioning, testing and installation and operation.

Job Description Summary

The position supports Natrium HALEU metallic nuclear fuel production capability being established at the Global Nuclear Fuels campus in Wilmington, NC. Natrium Fuel Facility construction is scheduled to begin this summer. In parallel , development facilities are being established to integrate and validate production processes to ensure a reliable transition into production.

The Uranium Product Center Manager (PCM) is responsible for establishing production capability for metallic uranium fuel production. Initially the PCM will manage the implementation of a development facility and technical resources required for process and equipment development and testing. The PCM will plan and manage development center activities and resources to ensure a successful transition into the production Natrium Fuel Facility.

Job Description

  • Manage and provide oversight of an initial team of 7 process engineers and technicians.

  • Refine facility planning to support required process development and testing activities

  • Implementation of a pre-production facility for equipment development and testing.

  • Support ongoing design and construction of the Natrium Fuel Facility.

  • Define and execute the development to production transition plan

  • Develop and execute resource plans necessary to execute planned activities.

  • Develop and refine lean and robust operational procedures and programs under our NQA-1 quality program in coordination with leadership and peers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 Year Technical Degree in Engineering, Materials, Chemistry or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university

  • 8 years of experience in technical engineering work

  • 3 years of experience in nuclear fuel fabrication and/or fuel development, nuclear operations or other regulated industry.

  • 2 years of experience in project team leadership

Eligibility Requirements

  • Walk up and down stairs. Occasionally climb ladders.

  • Crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching around manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to use computers. Frequent use of computer equipment.

  • This position will be based at the Wilmington, NC Nuclear business location.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

  • Strong interpersonal and technical skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Certification

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,600.00 and $174,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
