Position: Data Scientist / Environmental Statistician
Location: Remote (Offices based in Dundee)
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum

Our client, a pioneering start-up, is seeking a talented Data Scientist / Environmental Statistician to join their dynamic team. This company is dedicated to using data-driven insights to solve complex environmental challenges. The role is fully remote, with the company’s offices based in Dundee. This position offers a competitive salary between £40,000 and £60,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse large datasets related to environmental and ecological data.
- Develop statistical models to predict and improve environmental outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into product development and strategy.
- Create data visualisations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and environmental statistics to continually improve analytical capabilities.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of post-university experience in a data science or statistical role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and methods.
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with environmental data and sustainability principles is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
