Job Description


Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Rijswijk, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 4-6 years.

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office


Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior IBM ODM Developer with strong hands-on experience in enterprise decision automation and rule engine development using IBM Operational Decision Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Gather and refine business rules with BAs and Product Owners; translate requirements into technical rule assets
  • Design and implement decision services, rule flows, decision tables, and governance models
  • Develop, test, and deploy rule artifacts across DEV / TEST / PROD environments
  • Manage Decision Center projects, workspaces, versioning, and approvals
  • Integrate ODM services with upstream/downstream systems (BPM/BAW, ESB, microservices, databases)
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated ODM deployments
  • Perform performance tuning and optimize execution on Rule Execution Server (RES)
  • Monitor rule execution (KPIs, logs) and contribute to incident/problem management
  • Document technical designs, deployment guides, and operational runbooks
  • Mentor junior engineers and enforce quality standards


Qualification & Experience

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM ODM components:

Rule Designer

Decision Center

Rule Execution Server (RES)

HTDS

  • Experience designing and implementing decision services
  • Integration expertise using Java/J2EE, REST/SOAP, XML/JSON
  • Version control (Git/SVN) and branch strategies for rule artifacts
  • CI/CD experience with automated build and deployment pipelines
  • Agile/Scrum experience (story grooming, estimation, sprint execution)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BPM/BAW)
  • Cloud exposure (Azure / AWS / IBM Cloud)
  • Knowledge of Decision Modeling Notation (DMN)
  • Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Understanding of security controls (RBAC, TLS, secrets management)
