About the Role

A rapidly growing AI infrastructure startup is hiring Member of Technical Staff engineers to build training environments for next-generation AI agents.

This is an early-team opportunity focused on backend and infrastructure systems that support frontier AI research. Engineers operate with extreme ownership and are expected to work directly with AI researchers and customers, shipping high-performance systems in fast, ambiguous environments.

This is a fully in-person role in NYC with high intensity and high impact.

What You’ll Do

• Build backend and infrastructure systems powering AI training environments
• Design and scale simulation environments used for reinforcement learning workflows
• Ship production systems that support agent training and evaluation
• Work closely with researchers and customers to deploy real-world solutions
• Solve hard systems problems across performance, reliability, and distributed execution
• Own projects end-to-end from architecture through deployment

Who You Are

• 2+ years of strong backend engineering experience
• Proven progression at a high-bar technology company or as a founding engineer at a successful startup
• Strong experience in backend / infrastructure systems
• Proficient in Python, Go, or TypeScript
• Comfortable working directly with customers or researchers
• Excited about high ownership, fast growth, and long-term company building
• Motivated by hard technical problems and applied AI infrastructure
• Graduated from a top-tier university

Compensation & Logistics

• Salary range: $220,000 – $350,000
• Competitive equity package
