Job Description


About the job:

We are seeking a senior Cybersecurity Engineer to ensure cybersecurity compliance and implement robust security solutions for a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) program with a Japanese OEM. You will define security requirements, conduct threat analysis and risk assessments, and collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to safeguard vehicle safety and data integrity. Relocation to Japan is required.


Engagement details:

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Contract type: Permanent / Contractor

Work model: Hybrid


Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage cybersecurity requirements at vehicle, system, and component levels
  • Support CSMS processes across development stages; perform gap analysis and recommend best practices
  • Prepare and review type approval documentation, including TARA reports and compliance evidence
  • Collaborate with ECU suppliers and Tier-1 partners to align cybersecurity work packages with ISO/SAE 21434
  • Conduct vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and security validation
  • Monitor global vulnerability databases and Auto-ISAC reports; manage identified risks


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and compliance with UN-R155 and ISO/SAE 21434
  • Hands-on experience in Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis
  • Ability to define security requirements and design security architecture for embedded systems
  • Understanding of CSMS processes and type approval workflows
