Job Description
MONSTR Sense Technologies is developing advanced ultrafast imaging and spectroscopy tools to solve important problems in fundamental research and the semiconductor industry. We are a team of scientists and engineers who simplify the hard parts of optical measurements so our customers can achieve great results without great effort.
ObjectiveWe are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the cross-functional integration of our Ultrafast Imaging and Spectroscopy products. You will serve as an important Team Member with our hardware engineering, firmware engineering, software engineering, and scientific teams to ensure that complex ultrafast laser technologies and coherent spectroscopic techniques function as seamless, turnkey measurement systems. This role is critical for managing the entire product lifecycle—from conceptual system architecture to onsite customer validation.
Key Responsibilities- System Integration & Architecture: Define, model, and integrate hardware and software components to generate cohesive system designs for new products.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work with intra- and inter-functional groups to optimize design and communication; act as a liaison between multidisciplinary teams and external suppliers.
- Automation & Development: Improve system automation within LabVIEW and develop new features at both the software and hardware levels.
- Validation & Testing: Create alignment procedures and performance qualification plans; perform root-cause analysis for technical issues and validate solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Visit customer sites for requirements development, product installations, service, testing, and training demonstrations to ensure a superior user experience.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage requirements analysis, functional specifications, risk analysis, and scheduling for existing and upcoming projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience in product development, manufacturing, or systems engineering.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level experience in electrical systems and SolidWorks (Solid Modeling and PDM), expertise in risk management across product life cycle, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

Bonus Points for:
- Advanced Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related technical field
- Electronics Design Experience: Experience with grounding schemes, EMI/EMC mitigation, and low-noise analog signal paths
- Experience in LabVIEW development and FPGA firmware development
- Knowledge of Python, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision.
- Hands-on experience with ultrafast optics, lasers, and precision imaging systems
- Experience with precision optical assemblies, lasers and microscopes.
- Knowledge of optomechanical stability, thermal expansion management, and vibration isolation techniques for precision optical systems
- Experience with Product Life Cycle management practices.
- Experience with Environmental Testing.
- Certifications in Six Sigma or Quality Management
- Experience in Project Management.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with design for manufacturing.
- Ability to function both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to function without supervision in a laboratory environment.
- Flexibility in a startup and growth environment
