The DevSecOps Engineer will support the migration and modernization of USDA Rural Development applications to a FedRAMP-authorized Government Cloud environment. This role focuses on building and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and integrating security controls into cloud delivery workflows in alignment with federal compliance requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins to enable secure, consistent deployments.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or CloudFormation, supporting repeatable cloud provisioning and modernization efforts.
  • Integrate automated security checks into deployment pipelines (e.g., code scanning, dependency scanning, container scanning) and support controls aligned to FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST guidance.
  • Assist with containerization using Docker and support Kubernetes-based deployments.
  • Configure logging and monitoring to improve operational visibility in cloud environments.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and compliance-related documentation updates.
  • Partner with cloud architects, migration engineers, and security teams to resolve deployment and pipeline issues.
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Support deployment windows and migration cutovers as needed.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, with 3–7 years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or DevSecOps roles.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production and working with at least one IaC tool (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation).
  • Experience with Docker, familiarity with Kubernetes concepts/deployments, and working knowledge of cloud security practices (ideally in regulated/compliance-driven environments).
  • Collaborative teammate with strong troubleshooting skills and a documentation mindset.
  • U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain required clearance.
