MissionHires is seeking a Quality Control Manager with deep experience in concrete and process mechanical/piping to refine and implement project Quality Plans, lead QA/QC field execution, and ensure compliance with contract specifications and industry codes. This role partners closely with project teams, clients, vendors, and third-party agencies to drive proactive quality planning, risk mitigation, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement across construction scopes.
How You'll Contribute
- Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan and maintain all related documentation
- Review prime contracts and subcontracts to extract quality specifications and requirements
- Align all quality activities with project scope, contract terms, and ITPs
- Interpret project specifications and provide technical quality guidance to the project team
- Ensure visual examinations, witnessing, monitoring, and documentation are performed per quality requirements
- Review and refine work procedures/instructions for effective quality management execution
- Provide QA/QC input to task planning and project sequencing
- Liaise with client QA/QC reps, third‑party testing agencies, and trade contractor quality personnel
- Verify supplier and vendor compliance with project specifications, including material verification upon delivery
- Plan, conduct, and oversee internal audits for adherence to the quality plan/manual and contract requirements; provide feedback to project and district leadership
- Identify areas of quality risk with project teams and develop mitigation plans
- Oversee planning, execution, and documentation of mock‑ups
- Coach and mentor quality team members on construction inspection across multiple scopes
- Support timely inspections and monitor progress to maintain schedule alignment
- Contribute to continuous improvement through procedure/manual development and lessons learned

What Makes You a Great Fit
- Trades background or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in quality control and/or construction, including supervisory/leadership experience preferred
- Significant experience with concrete and process mechanical/piping quality control
- Advanced knowledge of construction specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures
- Expert understanding and interpretation of construction industry codes
- Ability to influence project planning and sequencing from a QA/QC perspective
- Proven ability to monitor project progress and ensure timely inspections
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate project quality risks
- Strong ability to interpret plans/specifications and visualize 2D drawings in 3D
- Experience developing and maintaining site/project quality plans
- Demonstrated experience writing procedures and quality manuals
- Experience leading internal project quality assessments/audits
- Strong planning, organizational, and time‑management skills with ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate effectively
