Industrial Designer

The Opportunity

Circ is looking for a talented industrial designer to join our Shanghai studio. You will work hands-on across the full design process on products in the furniture, ergonomic and consumer electronics sectors.

About Us

Circ is an industrial design studio founded in 2021 by Swiss-Japanese designer Mugi Yamamoto and Canadian designer Eric Cross, with offices in Shanghai and Adelaide.

We focus on industrial design that meaningfully improves usability, functionality, and sustainability through a hands-on process of sketching, prototyping, and testing. Our work spans furniture, ergonomic products, and electronics for clients including Goodtone (China), and Festool (Germany).

We’re looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in product / industrial / furniture design
• 3–6 years of professional experience (furniture experience a plus)
• Excellent sketching and visual communication skills
• Strong CAD surfacing skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino)

• Experience with KeyShot and Adobe Creative Suite
• Hands-on experience with physical prototyping
• Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM
• Proactive, self-driven, and well-organized
• Fluent English communication (Chinese is a plus)

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Shanghai (visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates).
