About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing Netherlands-based eCommerce company operating across European markets. With increasing platform traffic and continuous product expansion, they are strengthening their backend team to ensure scalability, stability, and seamless system integrations.

The Role

We are looking for a Backend Laravel Developer to help scale and optimize a high-traffic eCommerce platform.

You will focus on building robust backend systems, improving performance, and developing integrations that directly impact revenue and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving real-world scalability challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using Laravel

Build and optimize RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations

Work on payment gateway, logistics, ERP, and third-party integrations

Improve database architecture and query performance (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

Implement caching strategies (Redis) and queue systems

Ensure system scalability and reliability under high traffic

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Collaborate closely with frontend developers and product teams

Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

Requirements

4+ years of backend development experience

Strong expertise in Laravel

Solid experience designing and maintaining REST APIs

Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)

Strong understanding of performance optimization

Experience working on production systems with real users

Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows

Ability to work aligned with CEST working hours

Nice to Have

eCommerce platform experience

Experience with payment provider integrations

Experience with Docker & CI/CD pipelines

Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS or similar)

Knowledge of microservices architecture

Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit/Pest)
