Job Description

In this impactful role, you will manage a talented team of data scientists and engineers, playing a crucial part in delivering data-driven solutions that intersect AI, analytics, and research. Accountabilities

  • Lead consistent 1-on-1s with direct reports focused on growth, wellbeing, and performance.
  • Manage the full performance cycle — goal setting, ongoing feedback, and formal reviews.
  • Mentor and develop data scientists and engineers of varying skill levels.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-trust team environment where innovation thrives.
  • Monitor team engagement, taking proactive steps to address issues.
  • Drive team growth through strategic hiring and onboarding.
  • Guide the development and delivery of machine learning models and AI-powered solutions.
  • Promote best practices in data science, including model quality and responsible AI.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing data science or analytics teams with a strong focus on people development.
  • Hands-on background in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
  • Strong technical foundation in Python, SQL, and relevant DS/ML frameworks.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with Agile practices and data engineering workflows.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Genuine commitment to growing the people around you.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; experience is the most relevant factor.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
