Working within a brand-new Austin based team, you will pay a key role to support the safety and licensing analysis of an advanced micro nuclear reactor. You will work closely with nuclear engineering and safety analysis teams to ensure the reactor design meets radiation safety standards and accident dose requirements.

The Person:
* BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related field (Physics with nuclear concentration)
*5+ years of radiological evaluation experience within PWR or BWR environments
* Shielding experience!
*Proficiency with MCNP, SCALE, RADTRAD, or similar nuclear analysis codes
*Experience with scripting and coding (Python and/or Excel VBA)
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Collaborative mindset with positive team interaction skills
*U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required

The Role:
* Working within a well-established and rapidly expanding nuclear start-up!
* Play in crucial part in Radiological Engineering on an industry defining project!
* Working on groundbreaking advanced microreactor technology!
* Determine core and coolant radiological source terms
* Assess neutron and gamma radiation fields around the NSSS and site boundary
* Calculate dose consequences from theoretical accident scenarios (impact surrounding area)
* Support customer and regulatory interfaces to obtain regulatory approval of reactor core design, codes, and methodologies
*Prepare and review safety analyses, calculation packages, and supporting documentation
*Perform radiation transport and shielding analysis using MCNP, SCALE, RADTRAD, or similar tools
