Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Software Engineer II, Golang to join the Traffic Engineering squad on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

As a Platform Engineer in a team running a global Traffic Management solution powering all Delivery Hero brands around the world, you will have a primary focus on software engineering, playing a critical role in developing and maintaining user interfaces, API and infrastructure toolings to efficiently manage traffic resources and automations. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on challenging problems, contribute to high-quality and architecturally sound systems, and drive significant technological advancements.

• Manage and optimize the Global Service Mesh, API Gateways, SSL Certificates, Domain Management, Kubernetes Traffic Resources and Cloud Networking Resources.
• Develop and maintain user interfaces, API and infrastructure toolings for operating traffic resources and automations.
• Provide technical support, ensuring seamless operation and troubleshooting of traffic engineering components.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to streamline and automate infrastructure management.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Actively contribute to technical discussions, bringing innovative ideas and drive technological improvements through RFCs or other tools to explain, discuss and align decisions, paving the future of our solutions
  
  

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Service Mesh solutions (preferably Istio), API Gateways and cloud networking.
• Proficiency in managing DNS and domain configurations.
• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes and its traffic management resources.
• Fluent in reading and writing Golang code
• Competence in cloud networking concepts and configuration.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.
• Passionate about crafting simple solutions to complex engineering problems and writing readable, maintainable, well-tested code
• Passion for new technologies and willingness to mentor and teach.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience in measuring, monitoring and improving latency in complex traffic platforms.
• Hands-on Experience with the Open Application Model.
• Previous involvement in running a tech platform.
