Engine Programmer

CCP Iceland is looking for a talented Engine Programmer to support development of our proprietary multi-platform game engine.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in game engine development who excels in a collaborative, innovation-driven team environment. In this role, you will work alongside a team of engineers to develop our (soon to be) open-source game engine, Carbon. If you have a passion for building the core features of Carbon, we would love to hear from you. The role is in Reykjavík, Iceland with CCP offering full relocation support.

Your tasks:

• Investigating, planning, and implementing projects related to the health and capabilities of the game engine
• Identifying performance issues, researching, and implementing solutions to resolve those bottlenecks
• Contribute to all aspects of release and sprint planning with the ability to estimate effort required
• Maintaining and optimizing existing engine subsystems for all platforms
• Ability to collaborate with team members to determine technical requirements of upcoming projects
• Designing and implementing new engine subsystems for all platforms

Your Profile:

• BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with software development
• Professional experience using C/C++
• Familiarity with modern software development practices such as CI/CD, SDK and middleware integration, version control and code reviews
• Experience using and developing with game engines
