Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Analyst to join our remote engineering team in India. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in manual and automated testing of web and API-based applications, strong understanding of software testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with distributed teams. You will ensure high product quality by designing effective test strategies, executing test cases, and continuously improving QA processes in Agile/DevOps environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Execution
- Analyze business and technical requirements to design comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and UAT testing.
- Validate web applications, mobile apps (optional), and RESTful APIs.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness reviews.
2. Automation & Tooling
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium / Cypress / Playwright.
- Execute API tests using Postman / Newman.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Maintain test suites and ensure test coverage for new and existing features.
3. Defect Management & Reporting
- Log, track, and manage defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Work closely with developers and product owners to reproduce, prioritize, and resolve issues.
- Provide test reports, quality metrics, and release sign-off documentation.

4. Quality, Performance & Security
- Participate in basic performance testing using JMeter or k6 (optional).
- Support security testing by validating OWASP Top 10 risks (SQL injection, XSS, and auth flaws).
- Ensure test documentation follows organizational QA standards and best practices.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Support teams across time zones.
- Contribute to QA process improvements, test automation strategy, and shift-left testing.
- Mentor junior testers and promote quality ownership across teams.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
- 2–5 years of experience as a Test Analyst / QA Engineer
- Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Manual testing expertise (web & API)
- Test case management and defect tracking
- SQL basics for data validation
- REST API testing (Postman / Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Version control: Git
