Director of Finance

Location: Clayton County- Iowa (Onsite, 5 days/week)

Marquette, IOWA

Overview

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a dynamic Director of Finance to lead financial operations during an exciting growth phase, including the CAPEX projects for our client in Clayton County, Iowa. This role is a key member of the onsite executive team and will oversee finance, accounting, and select operational departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical skills, experience managing high-volume cash environments, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced, regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

* Financial Leadership & Reporting

o Own monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

o Prepare and deliver weekly forecasting (slots, tables), daily revenue reporting, and quarterly financial reviews for corporate.

o Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles, including driver-based modeling and scenario planning.

o Oversee compliance and reporting requirements and corporate standards.

o Ensure accurate GL reconciliations, journal entries, and cash deposit controls.

o Lead capital budgeting and CAPEX spend tracking; submit approvals and monitor project budgets.

* Systems & Tools

o Great Plains (accounting & fixed assets); Oracle.

o Heavy Excel usage for reporting and analysis.

o Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ability to adapt to new systems.

* Team Management

o Experience overseeing department managers and ensure team training, compliance, and accountability.

o Collaborate with Purchasing Department.

* Operational Oversight

o Support non-finance departments (IT, Warehouse) while maintaining autonomy for department managers.

o Participate in weekly P\&L reviews with department heads and quarterly reviews with corporate.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

* 7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience; multi-department oversight a plus.

* Strong technical skills in ERP systems (Great Plains, Oracle), Excel, and financial modeling.

* Experience in high-cash environments required; casino experience strongly preferred.

* Proven ability to manage CAPEX projects and large-scale budgets.

* Exceptional leadership and communication skills; ability to work onsite full-time.

Compensation & Benefits

* Base salary: $85,000-95,000 + bonus

* Relocation assistance: $5,000.
