Founding Backend Engineer – London | AI, Python, Rust – Up to £125K + Equity

We’re partnered with an early-stage, venture-backed London startup building an AI-driven system focused on improving reliability and visibility across modern data workflows.

They’re looking for a Founding Backend Engineer with strong AI exposure to join a small, high-impact team in London. You’ll take ownership of core backend systems and play a key role in shaping both the technical direction and product experience from the ground up.

This role blends backend systems engineering with product thinking, turning real-world production challenges into scalable, production-grade systems that engineers genuinely trust and rely on.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend and distributed systems fundamentals
• Strong Python, AWS and LangGraph
• Experience working with data platforms and production pipeline stacks
