Robotics Software Engineer


ROS 2 | Nav2 | GPS-Denied Navigation | State Estimation | Outdoor Robotics

Location: Portugal


Relocation support available. International applicants welcome.


We are partnering with a robotics company building autonomy for real agricultural environments where GPS is unreliable and terrain is variable.


This role sits at the core of the autonomy stack. You will work across localisation, navigation, and system robustness in live deployments.


What You’ll Work On

  • Designing and evolving a ROS 2 / Nav2 autonomy framework
  • Multi-sensor fusion across IMU, wheel odometry, and visual/LiDAR inputs
  • SLAM, state estimation, and robust path-following
  • Integration of perception outputs into behaviour-level decisions
  • Real-time optimisation and system reliability in outdoor environments


We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in mobile robotics or autonomous systems
  • Production-level ROS 2 experience
  • Strong C++ with performance awareness
  • Practical understanding of localisation and state estimation
  • Experience working on real robotic platforms
