We're working with Amazon on this exciting opportunity. As a Systems Engineer in Managed Operations, you'll be at the forefront of launching the European Sovereign Cloud, delivering high-availability AWS services. This role offers a chance to profoundly impact the evolution of cloud technology for EU customers.

The Role

• Play a pivotal role in building and leading operations and development teams for high-availability AWS services

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025

• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence the evolution of AWS services and technology

• Enhance day-to-day operations and improve availability, reliability, and performance of the ESC

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve out-of-hours incidents

• Deliver scalable services and ensure a high-availability experience for EU customers

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related IT discipline) or equivalent industry experience

• Knowledge or experience in scripting (Bash, Python, or Ruby) or software development (Java, TypeScript, or similar)

• Strong understanding of Linux and networking fundamentals for troubleshooting and optimization

• Fluency in written and spoken English
