Automation and AI Technician
A fast-growing AI education and automation consultancy based in Austria, helping coaches, consultants, solopreneurs, and small businesses adopt AI and automation in a practical and compliant way, is seeking an Automation and AI Technician to design, build, and maintain robust automation workflows for both client systems and internal operations.
Full-time: 40 hours per week
Remote: Fully remote, must be available for 8:00-12:00 CET daily overlap, while the remaining 4 hours is flexible
Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
Monthly Rate: $1600-1920
What You'll Be Doing:
Automation & Process Implementation
- Design, build, and maintain workflow automations according to architectural specifications using tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, and Power Automate
- Develop and manage RPA solutions based on technical requirements
- Integrate systems and APIs following defined interface documentation
- Conduct testing and quality assurance for implemented automations
- Perform error analysis, debugging, and continuous optimization of existing workflows
- Maintain clear and structured technical documentation for all solutions
- Implement LLM-based applications (GPT, Claude, open-source models) according to concept specifications
- Build RAG systems and vector databases following architecture guidelines
- Prepare, clean, and structure data for AI applications
- Deploy and configure AI agents and chatbots
- Implement prompt templates and AI-driven workflows effectively

- Work closely with consultants and architects to clarify technical details and ensure correct implementation
- Provide regular reporting on implementation progress, technical challenges, and solutions
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards
- Provide proactive feedback when specifications contain ambiguities or potential technical obstacles
- Support effort estimation and planning for new projects
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in automation, AI implementation, or related technical roles
- Strong proficiency in Python; knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as Make.com and n8n; familiarity with other low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Zapier, Power Automate) is a plus
- Practical experience with AI/LLM technologies, including OpenAI API, Anthropic API, LangChain, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant)
- Proficiency in data processing, including JSON, REST APIs, webhooks, and relational or NoSQL databases
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, to ensure clean and maintainable code
- Demonstrated ability to execute projects reliably, transforming concepts into functional solutions on schedule
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications
- High degree of self-reliance, capable of completing tasks independently
- Structured and organized approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong willingness and aptitude for learning new tools and technologies
- Effective team communication skills, including asynchronous collaboration with international teams
