SecOps Engineering Lead

Salary - €150k + 30-50% Bonus + Benefits

Location – Amsterdam (required in office 3 days per week; can provide relocation)

I’m currently working with a major Market Making firm who are hiring a SecOps Engineering Lead who can build out and lead their technical Cyber SecOps estate; establishing the technical security controls to ensure they remain cyber secure but maintain extremely high availability and ultra-low latency.

This is a highly technical role where you will be the technical lead and SME for all things Cyber SecOps related first and foremost, with the expectation to then build and lead a team beneath you. Experience working in hybrid on-prem/cloud (AWS/GCP) environments, deploying Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), securing Containers (Kubernetes), integrating and deploying CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab) and building out SOAR capabilities in Enterprise environments will be essential.

The successful candidate will effectively have a blank canvas to rebuild their entire SecOps function from the ground up, ‘lifting and shifting’ what’s good, and completely ripping up and re-writing what’s not; in turn creating a lean but incredibly efficient cloud-based (AWS) SecOps function.

Responsibilities

• Build out a scalable Cyber SecOps capability capable of defending against cyber threat actors affecting the Web2 and Web3 space whilst maintaining ultra-low latency.
• Take ownership of and consistently develop the SecOps monitoring, detection and response tooling; automating and fine-tuning wherever possible, whilst adopting and configuring into the cloud (AWS/GCP) infrastructure.
• Work closely with wider Engineering and Platform teams to ensure the cloud based SecOps capability aligns with Platform Engineering cloud strategy.
• Report to and influence senior stakeholders across the organization, translating technical concepts into relevant associated risks and understanding the latency requirements.

Requirements

• Experience building and developing scalable security monitoring and detection tooling using open source tooling in public cloud environments (AWS/GCP).

• Experience and knowledge of Financial Markets environments and understanding of balancing the need between highest levels of security with ultra-low latency.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security tooling/concepts – Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Containers (Kubernetes), Continuous Integration and Delivery (Gitlab).
• Understanding and knowledge of threats affecting the Web2 and Web3 ecosystem.
• Ability to work with and influence wider teams and stakeholders across the business
