We're working with Amazon Web Services on this exciting opportunity. Join our team to build and lead operations for the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud, delivering highly available AWS services to EU customers. This is a chance to influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.

The Role

• Lead operations and development teams for the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC)

• Deliver high-availability AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock

• Collaborate with global AWS teams to launch ESC in 2025

• Enhance day-to-day operations and improve availability, reliability, and performance

• Participate in "on-call" rotations to resolve out-of-hours incidents

• Contribute to the design and development of scalable services

What You'll Need

• National of an EU member state and residing in the EU

• Proven experience in software development with proficiency in Java, Typescript, Python, or Ruby

• Demonstrated experience in engineering with hardware, software, networking, and operating systems

• Solid understanding of Linux and networking, with troubleshooting capabilities

• Experience designing systems for performance, simplicity, scalability, security, and cost

• Fluent in written and spoken English
