Job Description

This is a remote position.

Neupulse is a breakthrough in neuroscience. We’re launching a wearable medical device designed to gently rebalance brain activity — helping people with Tourette’s take control of their tics and their lives.

This role will serve as the Technical Lead for the software - responsible for operationalising the device in real-world settings.

Connected to the wearable, the mobile app and Azure backend sit at the heart of how people interact with the device every day. This software controls configuration, behaviour, and data — and is critical to how the product performs outside the lab.

In this role, you take responsibility for how the software behaves in practice: how changes are tested, how releases are managed, and how reliably the device can be used by the people who depend on it.

This is a hands-on, early-stage role, ideal for someone with strong practical skills who wants responsibility early - and the chance to grow with a product that genuinely makes a difference.

The role

Application development is handled by a specialist external partner. Your role begins once software is handed over.

From that point on, you are the internal lead of the supporting software — responsible for how it’s validated, released, deployed and supported as the device enters live use.

This is not a senior or architectural role. It’s an application-focused, operational position where care, judgement, and attention to detail are critical.

What you’ll be doing

Day to day, you’ll:

• Work closely with third-party development partners responsible for the development and delivery of the iOS and Android applications.

• Own and maintain the source code repositories via Azure DevOps tool (ADO)

• Lead manual and automated testing for the application changes/improvements, especially where they affect how the wearable device is used

• Oversee and manage the app’s Azure backend environments, including QA validation and production, and coordinate releases across the mobile applications.

• Work proactively to manage and monitor application functional data through existing Azure services (Azure application insight and SQL Database — not infrastructure design)

• When required, collaborate with the Engineering team to support data extraction and perform basic analysis

• investigate issues, support fixes, and help improve how changes are tested and released over time

Your focus is on ensuring the software that supports the device is reliable, safe, and trusted by users.

Who this role is for

This role is for someone who’s already worked close to real applications in production live and is now looking for the chance to own things end-to-end as the product grows.

You’ll be a good fit if you:

• have experience running, supporting, or releasing software in a live environment

• are comfortable taking a technical responsibility for how software behaves beyond development

• enjoy careful testing, validation, release and deployment lead

• want to work on a product with real-world human impact

• are happy being hands-on in an early-stage company

• You must already be fully eligible to work in the UK without restrictions. This is a remote role, but will require occasional onsite work.

Why this is a good opportunity

• You’ll own software that supports a breakthrough neuroscience product

• You’ll help people with Tourette’s take control of their lives

• You’ll gain hands-on experience launching and supporting a medical device

• You’ll build strong judgement around testing, releases, and reliability

• Your responsibility and scope will grow as Neupulse grows
