About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst, Onchain, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of analyzing onchain blockchain data to derive actionable insights that influence Kraken’s trading strategies, product development, and market positioning. The ideal candidate is passionate about blockchain technology, possesses a deep understanding of onchain fundamentals, and has experience translating complex data into clear, strategic narratives.

As part of the Onchain team, you will work closely with product, trading, and engineering teams to build datasets, develop metrics, and create dashboards that reveal trends in user behavior, liquidity flows, and market signals. Your insights will help Kraken understand where liquidity resides, how capital moves across different protocols, and what signals indicate upcoming market opportunities. Your work will directly impact our ability to optimize product features, improve user engagement, and identify new growth avenues in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in cutting-edge onchain analysis, contributing to Kraken’s mission of fostering financial inclusion and advancing the adoption of crypto worldwide. You will develop frameworks for measuring trading performance, analyze onchain signals such as wallet clustering and transaction flows, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance data pipelines and quality. Effective communication of your insights through visualizations and reports will be essential in guiding strategic decisions across the company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in product or trading analytics within crypto, fintech, or data-driven trading environments.
• Strong understanding of onchain fundamentals including wallets, DEXs, liquidity, bridges, and token mechanics.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python (pandas, matplotlib, plotly), and dbt for data modeling and analysis.
• Experience creating dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex insights effectively.
• Familiarity with onchain data sources such as Dune, Flipside, Nansen, APIs, or subgraphs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, trading, and data teams to uncover insights across the entire onchain user journey, from initial trade to long-term retention.
• Build and maintain datasets capturing wallet activity, liquidity movements, feature usage, and trading behaviors.
• Design and develop metrics and dashboards in dbt and BI tools to identify trends in user growth, engagement, and trading activity.
• Analyze funnels, lifetime value (LTV), and retention metrics to inform product strategies and optimize user experience.
• Investigate onchain signals such as wallet clustering, transaction flows, and capital allocation to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop frameworks to attribute trading performance and return on investment (ROI) across products, markets, and user segments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to scale onchain data pipelines, improve data quality, and enhance data accessibility.
• Communicate complex blockchain data insights clearly and visually, translating technical findings into actionable business strategies.
