Systems Engineer / DevOps Engineer, Managed Operations | Berlin, Germany | Hybrid

We're working with Amazon Web Services on this exciting opportunity. We're seeking a skilled Systems Engineer/DevOps Engineer to join the team launching the European Sovereign Cloud, focusing on automation and operational excellence for high-availability AWS services. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical cloud infrastructure for EU customers.

The Role

• Spearhead operations and development for the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) services.

• Ensure the high availability of critical AWS services like EC2, S3, Dynamo, Lambda, and Bedrock for EU customers.

• Collaborate with global AWS teams and influence the evolution of AWS services and technology.

• Contribute to enhancing day-to-day operations, focusing on availability, reliability, and performance.

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve out-of-hours incidents and maintain system resilience.

• Provide constructive feedback on change management documents and address operational backlog.

What You'll Need

• EU nationality with residency in an EU member state.

• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering across hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.

• Experience scripting processes in Bash, Python, or Ruby.

• Solid understanding of Linux and networking, with troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to lead the creation and improvement of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
