For this opportunity, you will be working with Enexis, a company that ensures energy is available wherever people need light and heat. Enexis supplies electricity and gas to over three million homes and businesses across the Netherlands.


About the Role

As a Senior Python Developer, you will join the NEVO team (Grid Forecasting), developing innovative solutions that provide insights into the impact of the energy transition on the electricity grid. Together with seven other teams, we form the Asset Grid Capacity & Insight value chain, with the goal of ensuring that everyone always has access to energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a grid simulation tool that processes large volumes of data and performs calculations in containers (AWS, Python, Kubernetes).
  • Work with relational databases (Postgres, Snowflake) and, when necessary, DynamoDB.
  • Use Git-based CI/CD pipelines to build containers (Docker).
  • Contribute to technical decisions and build scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary Agile teams (BizDevOps), communicating mainly in English.

Technologies you will use:

  • Python (NumPy, Pandas), Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Docker, CI/CD, AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, EKS)
  • Kubernetes, Terraform (IaC)
  • Pipeline orchestration/scheduling (Dagster is a plus)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM fields (preferably Computer Science)
  • Experience as a Software Engineer
  • Knowledge in:
  • Python, Pandas, NumPy
  • Cloud (AWS or similar), CI/CD, Docker
  • Relational databases (Postgres, Snowflake)
  • Nice-to-haves: Terraform/IaC, Kubernetes, time series, orchestration frameworks
