Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a secure and robust global network infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on security, cloud integration, and advanced connectivity, you will lead critical network operations, ensure high availability, and deliver technical expertise for seamless business operations.
This position offers remote setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Georgia, whether it's your home, well-equipped offices in Tbilisi and Batumi or a coworking space in Kutaisi.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure LAN/WAN network infrastructure for global operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex tier-3 network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Maintain and enhance network monitoring and reporting systems for real-time performance insights and reliability
- Author and regularly update system documentation to support ongoing operations and integration efforts
- Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical network needs as part of a rotating schedule
- Configure and manage advanced network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN services
- Perform regular network maintenance and updates, including installing patches and implementing security upgrades
- Monitor network performance, capacity trends, and utilization, taking proactive steps to enhance infrastructure efficiency
- Employ change management practices to ensure stability and reliability during infrastructure modifications
- Collaborate with security teams to deploy security tools, policies, and measures to safeguard the network
- Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to identify and resolve complex network issues
- Share expertise and deliver technical guidance or training to internal team members
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering with relevant certifications such as CCNP
- Expertise in SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Silver Peak preferred) and Cisco Next-Gen Firewalls (e.g., Cisco Firepower preferred)
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and LAN switching technologies (e.g., VLAN, STP, EtherChannel)
- Knowledge of network security protocols such as IPSec/SSL VPN, AAA architecture, TACACS+, RADIUS, and Cisco ISE
- Understanding of wireless networking technologies, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (Cisco WLC preferred)
- Capability to identify and resolve routing loops, asymmetric routing, and STP loop issues quickly
- Familiarity with technologies like Cisco Catalyst and Nexus 9K/7K series switches, as well as Cisco IOS and NX-OS software
- Background in cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure Cloud (Azure preferred)
- Skills with application protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, and SSL alongside Quality of Service (QoS) setups
- Experience with Zscaler firewall cloud services and using Citrix NetScaler load balancers
- Ability to analyze performance outputs and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document processes while troubleshooting effectively
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
- Schedule: 5 AM to 1 PM EST (11 AM to 7-8 PM Ukraine time) OR 9 AM to 5 PM EST
- Office attendance is required 3 times per week
