The Production Scheduler is responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously improving the production schedule. This includes ensuring that all departmental schedules are accurate, up to date, and clearly communicated to all relevant functions to support the short‑term execution of operational plans. The role requires creating schedules that fully consider existing labour and asset capacities and are achievable based on planned material availability, while also driving the timely resolution of any scheduling conflicts through close collaboration with stakeholders. Additionally, the Production Scheduler monitors production data—including volumes produced, raw material consumption, and quality control metrics—and uses this information to support Continuous Improvement activities such as maintaining routings and BOMs, and increasing the accuracy of the production schedule and efficiency reporting.

  • Optimize schedules by balancing demand priorities with efficient production sequencing and resource use.
  • Update schedules promptly when changes to existing plans occur.
  • Maintain accurate planning and scheduling parameters in the system for optimal scheduling performance.
  • Generate key metrics and operational measures to identify trends and root causes of performance issues.
  • Monitor production data—output volumes, raw material consumption, and quality metrics—and use insights for Continuous Improvement, including maintaining routings, BOMs, and schedule accuracy.
