Your role in our mission

  • Provide support on a range application and will be available to support after hours and during weekend.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
  • Code, test, debug, implement and document moderately complex programs
  • Analyze, design and write specs and reqs from which we develop and code programs
  • Evaluate existing systems and programs; assist project the manager in assigning tasks and work closely with a team Liaise with clients and management to provide technical consulting on complex programming projects, validate program requirements and resolve issues that arise
  • Develop test plans and participate in QA activities such as coding reviews
  • Customizes software based on research and customer needs as appropriate.
  • Coordinates and facilitates communications with other departments and/or commercial vendor(s) to investigate and resolve software matters of significance and to ensure proper functioning of systems.
  • Maintains communication with management and customers regarding status of software development and problems.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years of application development and batch programming experience with UNIX/C, Shell scripting (sh/csh/bash/ksh/etc), and SQL (Oracle).
  • Other experience and skills include:
    • Ability to explore Legacy code with little to no guidance
    • Comfortable on headless systems (CLI editors and navigating the terminal)
    • Knowledge of Make and Makefiles
Nice to have - knowledge in any of the following:

  • Unix - Solaris systems
  • PRO*C applications
  • NCPDP D.0 and NCPDP F6 formats
  • 270/271 (MEVS) transaction formats
  • 276/277 (CSI) transaction formats
  • shared memory
  • message queues

What you should expect in this role

  • Fully remote opportunity with the option to work anywhere within the United States
  • Opportunities to travel through your work (0-10%)
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
