About Your Role

At Nexters, we create games that capture the hearts of millions of users worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to work in our RnD Team.

You will be working with an autonomous R&D unit of around 50 specialists, fully responsible for the end-to-end game development lifecycle, from technical vision and architecture to production processes and delivery. You will have direct management responsibility for up to 10 engineers, while influencing and coordinating technical decisions across the wider team.

The team is currently leading a 3D mobile game project in the 4X strategy genre, actively moving toward release. To successfully reach this milestone and scale further, we are strengthening the team with a senior technical leader who can combine hands-on expertise, architectural thinking, and people leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Define and own the technical vision and architecture of the R&D projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
• Lead and mentor engineers, acting as a technical authority and people manager for a core group of developers
• Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, CI/CD, deployment, and observability
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and game teams to translate game vision into robust technical solutions
• Oversee and evolve the backend and infrastructure stack, including AWS-based services and live-ops readiness
• Ensure smooth delivery pipelines using GitLab CI and Argo CD
• Make key technical decisions and manage trade-offs under real product constraints
• Support the team on complex implementation challenges when needed, remaining close to the codebase

We hope that you have

• Proven experience as a Engineering Manager, CTO, or Development Lead in game development
• Strong hands-on background with C# and Unity, including experience with 3D projects
• Solid understanding of backend systems and Microservices Architecture
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL (or other SQL database), Kafka, and distributed systems
• Experience working with AWS (or other public cloud) in production environments
• Leadership experience managing engineers directly and influencing larger teams
• Ability to work in an autonomous environment, take ownership, and make strategic technical decisions
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, product-oriented mindset
