Title: Network Engineer L3
Location: Remote from Poland
Duration: One-year B2B contract (extensions possible)
Pay rate: €30-40 per hour (depending on experience level
Hours: Must be open to working 13:00-21:00 Central European time shift to help cover United States customers
Role Summary
A high performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects.
Experience
- 5+ years for Bachelor's 3+ years for Master's Education
- Maintained and enhanced network project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Implemented software solutions to configure infrastructure with code.
- Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience. Technical degree preferred.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Cisco CCNA,CCNP, AWS Associate, AWS Network Specialty).
Functional/ Technical Skills
- Proficient in configuring enterprise or service provider grade network hardware.
- Proficient in configuring, operating, and automating cloud IaaS networks (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Basic to intermediate skills in routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, MPBGP, ISIS, MPLS).
- Understands physical and virtual network technologies and how they interoperate.
- Intermediate knowledge of models used to show network state and for configuration (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, IPFIX, Netconf, Restconf, gRPC).
- Is familiar with using the best model for given technologies to observe network behavior and performance.
- Has strength in a couple languages and/or one language with multiple technology implementations.
- Identifies strengths and weaknesses among languages for particular use cases.
- Creates APIs to be consumed across the business unit.
- Selects among technology available to implement and solve for need.
- Performs routine network management responsibilities for the LAN, WAN and telecommunications systems, supporting other associates as needed.
- Uncovers and communicates potential business impacts of routine activity.
- Gathers pertinent information about a problem by analyzing data and patterns and identifying underlying issues.
- Can gain understanding of business impacts created by problems with the technology.
- Researches and recommends more detailed solutions to resolve problems.
- Implements solutions based on advanced knowledge of standard practices and previous experiences: escalates complex or unprecedented issues and needed.
- Brings together different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues and contributes own suggestions.

- Investigates standard or routine issues or incidents and drafts concise, balanced, evidence-based reports on findings.
- Conducts rigorous tests and inspections of products, services, solutions, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of advanced and relevant technology; exhibits
- comfort working with several forms of technology; understands the relationship between applications, databases, and technology platforms.
- Analyzes requirements and assists with the design of architecture.
- Has a working knowledge of how the solutions using the technology impact the capacity requirements for same.
- Researches information, data, trends, and best practices in emerging technology and shares beneficial information with relevant stakeholders.
