Job Description
A growing Managed Services Provider (MSP) is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a direct-hire, 100% remote role, supporting a diverse client base with modern infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid initiatives.
This role is ideal for a senior, hands-on System Engineer with MSP experience who enjoys leading on-prem to cloud and hybrid migrations, working across multiple environments, and serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
As the Senior System Engineer, you will:
- Design, deploy, and support on-prem to Azure and hybrid cloud migrations
- Architect, manage, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, backups, and security controls
- Support and integrate Active Directory with Azure AD / Entra ID, including identity synchronization, MFA, and Conditional Access
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and core services such as AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Support and maintain virtualized environments using VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V
- Configure and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Intune
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions (Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Veeam, Datto, etc.)
- Partner directly with MSP clients to troubleshoot issues, deliver infrastructure improvements, and support modernization efforts
- Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and migration plans
- Serve as a senior technical resource, providing guidance on cloud adoption, infrastructure best practices, and security considerations
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems, infrastructure, or cloud engineering
- Prior experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP)
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting on-prem to cloud or hybrid migrations
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
- Solid background in on-prem Windows infrastructure and hybrid architectures
- Experience with Active Directory and Azure AD / Entra ID
- Virtualization experience with VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V
