HR Generalist / HR Operations Specialist (Remote, Contract)

Industry: Energy

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in CST or EST)

Pay Rate: $21/hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (local time)

Duration: 6-month contract with opportunity to extend or convert

About the Role

We are supporting a large, well-established energy company seeking an early-career HR Generalist / HR Operations Specialist to join their HR team. This role is designed for a recent HR graduate who is looking to gain hands-on experience across core HR and hiring operations in a corporate environment.


This is an operational and administrative HR role, supporting interview coordination, pre-employment processes, and HR documentation. It is not a recruiting role and is best suited for someone eager to build a strong foundation in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule interviews in partnership with recruiters and hiring teams
  • Support pre-employment processes, including extensive background checks and drug screenings
  • Maintain and accurately update Excel-based HR and hiring trackers
  • Communicate professionally with candidates and internal stakeholders
  • Provide administrative and operational support across HR and Talent functions

What We’re Looking For

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Human Resources (strongly preferred)
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong Excel skills, including maintaining accurate trackers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ideal for entry-level or early-career candidates
  • Administrative experience is a plus
  • Candidates with more than 5 years of experience are likely overqualified

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Experience with iCIMS is a plus but not required

Interview Process
