About The Role
The Senior Data Analyst, Private Markets at Canoe Intelligence plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's advanced data extraction capabilities. This position involves executing detailed financial statement analyses, performing document markup for precise data extraction, and actively contributing to human-in-the-loop AI model training processes. The ideal candidate will work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to ensure that proprietary models learn effectively from real-world private markets data and domain expertise. Your insights will directly influence the accuracy and efficiency of Canoe’s AI-driven platform, helping to set new standards in private markets data management. This role offers a hybrid work model in New York City or the flexibility to work fully remote within the United States, with a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $125,000, adjusted based on geographic location.
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in private markets financial analysis, fund operations, or fund administration roles
- Proven experience in analyzing and markup of financial documents such as capital calls, distributions, and audited financial statements
- Prior experience or strong aptitude for working with engineering, AI teams, or automation-driven processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy standards
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to interpret complex financial documents and extract relevant data accurately
- Experience with data validation and quality assurance processes
- Familiarity with AI model training and feedback mechanisms is a plus
- Analyze, interpret, and markup complex private markets financial documents for precise data extraction
- Set and uphold high standards in financial statement analysis and data capture requirements
- Participate in human-in-the-loop AI model training by identifying extraction errors, edge cases, and data patterns
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine and improve AI extraction models through continuous feedback
- Conduct regular quality assurance tests to ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Document issues, edge cases, and resolutions to facilitate ongoing learning and operational improvements
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and data operations analysts to streamline workflows
- Monitor and report on model performance metrics, contributing to strategic enhancements
- Support the development of best practices for data analysis and extraction processes within the team
