đź•’ Full-time 38,5h/week

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to build and maintain TimeTac’s data foundation. This is a greenfield role: You’ll design the setup, connect systems, build reliable pipelines and create a clean, trustworthy data layer for reporting, analytics and future AI initiatives.

TimeTac is a continually growing and innovative software company with a focus on developing and providing web-based and mobile time tracking solutions. We maintain a modern, open corporate culture with a strong vision and a great working atmosphere in which creative thinking is encouraged. The products of TimeTac are among some of the leading cloud applications in the categories of time tracking and absence planning solutions.

Your future Role

  • Play a major role in designing and building our data foundation from scratch in close collaboration with AI Engineers and key stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from our SaaS application (MySQL), third-party APIs and internal tools into the Cloud Data Warehouse you will set up.
  • Introduce and maintain analytical data models and a central data layer to enable reporting and advanced analyses across TimeTac.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and availability through monitoring, validation and documentation.
  • Work closely with all teams (software development, marketing, finance, customer success, …) to understand data needs and translate them into robust, data solutions.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making by providing clean, well-structured datasets and supporting the creation of dashboards and reports.
  • In this role, you report directly to our CTO/CPO.

Your Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering. Experience with data warehouses and modern tools for orchestration, transformation & testing is a major plus. Ideally, you already implemented a data warehouse in a previous project.
  • University degree in Computer or Data Science, Software Development or similar.
  • Strong software development skills, preferably in Python, SQL, Docker and Git.
  • Very good knowledge of relational databases, in particular MySQL (schema design, queries, performance optimization).
  • Experience with common cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud/GCP, Azure) and their data services.
  • Experience with MS Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, as well as hands-on exposure to AI/ML in a data context is a nice-to-have.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate data topics into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, paired with curiosity, a strong willingness to learn and an eagerness to find innovative solutions.
  • Very good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
