Job Description

QA Test Automation Engineer – HealthTech (Remote, UK)

£60,000 • Permanent • Fully Remote (UK-based)

Join a high‑growth HealthTech company that’s building IoT‑driven products to improve people’s everyday lives. We’re looking for a Senior QA Test Automation Engineer to own and evolve our automation strategy across web, mobile and APIs.

You will work on test automation: designing frameworks, choosing tools, and embedding quality into our CI/CD pipelines so we can ship safe, reliable software at speed.

The opportunity

You will:

  • Design & build automation frameworks
  • Create, maintain and improve automated tests for web dashboards, mobile apps and backend services.
  • Ensure broad, reliable coverage that keeps pace with a rapidly evolving product.
  • Shape our testing strategy
  • Define what to test, where to automate, and how to balance unit, integration, UI and API tests.
  • Prioritise which manual tests to automate for maximum ROI.
  • Execute automated and occasional manual tests, analyse results and drive defect resolution.
  • Document test plans, cases and results, and provide clear quality reporting to the team.
  • Contribute to non‑functional testing
  • Support performance and security testing activities for our IoT platform.
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD workflows so they act as robust quality gates for every release

What we’re looking for

  • Automation‑focused background
  • Proven experience in a role where automated testing is the primary responsibility.
  • Strong SDLC & Agile experience
  • Hands‑on involvement across the full software development lifecycle within Agile teams.
  • Modern tooling & languages
  • Proficient in at least one modern programming language – ideally TypeScript or Python.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium.
  • Comfortable designing cross‑browser and cross‑device testing strategies, and testing web, mobile and APIs.
  • CI/CD & architecture mindset
