Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Location: fully remote in the US
Insight Global is looking for a VMware Engineer that will lead complex, multi-geography IT solution engagements, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to clients. This role drives innovative solution design and implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and system-wide impact. Responsibilities include architecting and deploying VMware Cloud Foundation solutions, developing best practices, and mentoring teams on advanced virtualization and automation technologies. Acting as a trusted advisor, the engineer collaborates with stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes, optimize performance, and enhance service offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in IT consulting, solution architecture, or enterprise systems engineering.
- Proven track record leading complex/dynamic projects.
- Deep knowledge of VMware technologies: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VCF Operations, and VCF Automation. (8+ years of exp and ideally experience working with most recent VMware version and VCF 9.1)
- Proven hands on experience working with VCF automation
- Experience with virtualization, high availability, storage integration, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
- Strong understanding of automation frameworks, policy-based governance, and performance optimization.
- Ability to lead project teams and mentor engineers.
- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills. -Skilled in creating business cases, financial justification, and solution benefit documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and integration best practices.
