About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join a lean, highly technical team supporting AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, and developer workflows. You will work directly with a US-based client, requiring daily communication in English with a senior engineering team.
This role is execution-focused and requires strong ownership over Infrastructure as Code, AWS services, and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with technical leadership and engineering teams to build, standardize, and operate cloud infrastructure following security and DevOps best practices.
This is not a support-only role and not a data science position. It is a true DevOps / Cloud Engineering role that requires autonomy, accountability, and real production experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Create and maintain Terraform modules and templates for reusable, multi-environment deployments (development, staging, production).
- Work with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI) to validate, test, and deploy infrastructure changes.
- Implement least-privilege IAM roles and policies for users and services.
- Support containerized workloads using Docker and AWS container services (ECS; EKS experience is a plus).
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch and/or Datadog.
- Collaborate with software engineers to improve developer workflows, automation, and infrastructure reliability.
- Participate in architecture discussions and propose improvements focused on scalability, security, and operational stability.
- Own production environments and participate in incident resolution when required.
Required Experience
- 3–6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
- Solid experience creating Terraform modules from scratch and reusing them across multiple environments.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and understanding how they operate end to end.
- Comfortable working in Linux-based environments (MacOS-based development environment).
- Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
· Kubernetes (EKS) experience.
· Datadog monitoring experience.
· Experience integrating SaaS platforms such as Snowflake or Metabase.
· Exposure to workflow automation tools such as EventBridge, Lambda, Workato, or Zapier.
· Background in regulated or enterprise environments.
Ideal Profile
- Self-starter who enjoys building infrastructure and automation from scratch.
- Comfortable owning systems end to end, including production environments.
- Pragmatic engineer focused on solving real problems rather than over-engineering.
- Able to explain technical decisions clearly and work closely with senior technical leadership.
- Fast learner who adapts quickly to new tools and environments.
Important Note
This role is not suitable for entry-level or junior profiles. Candidates must have real hands-on experience designing infrastructure and operating production systems.
Why This Role
- Work directly with senior technical leadership in a small, high-impact team.
- High autonomy and real ownership over cloud infrastructure.
- Modern AWS-based environment with strong DevOps practices.
- Remote-first culture with a Mac (Apple) engineering setup.
- Opportunity to grow deeper into DevOps and cloud architecture.
