Senior AI / ML Engineer (Agentic Systems)
Hybrid (Redwood, CA) or Remote US
$190K–$250K + equity
We’re partnering with a AI first startup that’s building one of the more advanced agentic AI platforms in production today. Their product is already used by large enterprise teams, and the focus is on making AI agents that can handle real unstructured workflows.
The team is small and senior, with a strong technical bar and meaningful ownership. This role sits right at the core of their agent platform and is for someone who wants to work on how LLMs actually reason, interact, and scale in the real world.
What you’ll work on:
- Building AI agents capable of high-quality, multi-turn interactions
- Improving reasoning and reducing hallucinations through prompt design, distillation, and reinforcement learning
- Creating and curating datasets for training, evaluation, and iteration
- Optimising inference for latency, cost, and reliability
- Building backend services that support AI-driven workflows at scale
What we're looking for
- 3–5 years of experience building ML systems in production
- Hands on experience LLM fine-tuning and dataset curation
- Strong Python experience, ideally with PyTorch and Hugging Face
- Solid understanding of AI / LLM Ops beyond just calling APIs
- Comfortable owning problems end to end in a fast-moving environment
