🚀 Site Reliability Engineer (Contract) – Linux & Kubernetes Specialist
Location: Remote (EU travel required 2–3 times per year)
Rate: €500 per day
Contract: Long-term

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high-performing engineering team on a long-term contract. This role is predominantly remote, with periodic EU travel required 2–3 times per year, for up to 6 weeks at a time.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on SRE with deep Linux expertise and strong Kubernetes experience who enjoys working in modern, cloud-native environments.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of production systems
- Design, operate, and optimise Kubernetes-based platforms
- Troubleshoot complex issues across Linux systems, containers, and distributed services
- Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices
- Collaborate with DevOps, Platform, and Development teams to improve system resilience
- Support on-site engineering work during planned EU travel periods
✅ Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps / Platform Engineer role
- Strong Linux fundamentals (performance tuning, networking, troubleshooting)
- Extensive hands-on Kubernetes experience (deployment, scaling, debugging)
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, container runtimes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in production environments
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first setup
🌍 Travel Requirement
- Willingness to travel within the EU 2–3 times per year
- Travel periods can last up to 6 weeks at a time
- Remaining time is fully remote
