Role Overview

As System Administrator – Analytics Platforms, you will manage our analytics infrastructure, including servers, databases, and data pipelines. Your expertise will ensure high availability, security, and performance for the teams building and using our analytics tools.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain analytics systems: Install, configure, and update servers, databases, and analytics platforms (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, cloud data warehouses). Ensure uptime, performance, and security
  • Monitor system performance: Use monitoring tools to track servers, networks, and storage; troubleshoot issues and implement proactive measures
  • Implement security & backups: Apply patches, manage user accounts and permissions, perform regular backups, and test disaster-recovery procedures
  • Support data teams: Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to ensure infrastructure supports their needs; provide technical support and troubleshooting
  • Document systems: Maintain clear documentation for configuration, procedures, and best practices; prepare user guidelines and training materials
  • Continuous improvement: Research new technologies (cloud, containerization, orchestration) and recommend enhancements for scalability and automation.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or DevOps engineer managing servers and databases in a data or analytics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration; proficiency with networks, virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with database management (SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) and ETL tools; familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
  • Understanding of security protocols, backup/recovery, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; certifications (e.g., Linux+, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
