Staff Full Stack Engineer

Velocity Tech has partnered with an exciting tech startup in San Francisco that is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join their team.

This opportunity will be on-site and will offer relocation support for anybody outside of San Francisco.

Who You Are

User-First Engineer

You have 4+ years of experience building full-stack web products and think deeply about how people actually use them. You care about flows, clarity, and trust—not just shipping features.

Strong Frontend + Backend Foundation

You’re highly comfortable with React and TypeScript on the frontend, and work confidently with Python or Node.js on the backend. You know how to deliver interfaces that are fast, responsive, and reliable.

Clear Thinker, Clear Communicator

You’re skilled at breaking down complex systems into intuitive experiences. You know when to show a signal, when to reveal detail, and how to avoid overwhelming users with noise.

Ownership Mentality

You don’t wait for perfect specs. When something feels off in the product, you take initiative to improve it. You understand that a thoughtful interface is critical to building confidence in intelligent systems.

Bonus Points

• Experience building advanced Slack apps using Bolt or similar frameworks
• Experience streaming AI-generated text and structured data to create low-latency experiences
• Experience building or maintaining a component library
• You’ve taken products from zero to one and iterate quickly based on user feedback
