Job Description


Position: PSA Engineer – DTS (Dispatcher Training Simulator)

Location: Seattle, WA (100% Remote; occasional travel may be required)

Pay Range: $55-60/hr


Job Description:

  • Administer, configure, and optimize Energy Management Systems (EMS), preferably GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) or equivalent platforms (Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider).
  • Work extensively with Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) including model validation and event creation.
  • Perform enhancement, defect fixing, and break/fix support across EMS / ADMS / SCADA environments.
  • Implement and support Power System Applications such as Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Load Forecasting, and AGC.
  • Handle simulated environments including RTU, IED, Console, and related integrations.
  • Work with communication protocols: ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus.
  • Manage and troubleshoot EMS environments on Linux and Windows OS.
  • Use Oracle / SQL Server databases, SQL queries, shell scripting, and log/debug analysis for issue resolution.
  • Install patches and fixes on live production systems with minimal disruption.
  • Participate in code review, deployment, testing, and monitoring of EMS/DTS fixes.
  • Utilize testing and defect management tools such as QTest and GRIP.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in Power System Applications and DTS/EMS.
  • Strong experience in EMS platforms and electrical transmission modeling.
  • Programming/scripting experience: C, C++, PERL, SQL, Shell scripting.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
