In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, optimizing, and maintaining Azure SQL database environments. Accountabilities
- Design and model relational database solutions using SQL technologies (e.g., Azure SQL), ensuring performance and scalability.
- Analyze and optimize SQL query performance to enhance data retrieval efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams for effective Object Relational Mapping integration and database access guidance.
- Automate database deployment and maintenance tasks using CI/CD pipelines and scripting tools.
- Manage and synchronize database changes across various environments to ensure consistency.
- Oversee Azure cloud-hosted databases, including configuration and performance tuning.
- Integrate monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive database management.
- Recommend new technologies and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a database engineering or developer-focused DBA role.
- Proven experience in optimizing relational database models for modern applications.
- Deep experience with Azure SQL Database, including design and management.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD methodologies.
- Proficiency in automating tasks using PowerShell or Azure CLI.
- Knowledge of database monitoring tools and security best practices.
- Strong SQL development and optimization skills, including query tuning.
- Excellent communication skills in a remote working environment.
