About The Role

We are seeking experienced and passionate Software Engineers to join Pulumi’s dynamic team, focusing on extending our open-source platform and cloud programming models. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining Pulumi SDKs across multiple programming languages, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, reliability, and usability. You will lead projects from concept to deployment, collaborating closely with fellow engineers, community members, and customers to prototype new features, improve existing functionalities, and shape the future of cloud infrastructure management. Qualifications

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, Rust, Kotlin, Scala, Haskell, Ruby, F#, or Lisp
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with building and deploying services in cloud environments and orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools and deployment automation
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and compiler fundamentals
  • Experience with distributed systems primitives and graph algorithms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach and critical thinking
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience leading projects from conception through implementation
  • Familiarity with open-source community engagement and contribution
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with teams

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain open-source Pulumi SDKs across various programming languages
  • Implement comprehensive test coverage and document design decisions clearly
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of codebases
  • Lead projects from initial concept to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and community members
  • Define product roadmaps and scope features based on team discussions and community feedback
  • Engage with the Pulumi community by gathering user feedback, creating sample content, and promoting platform adoption
  • Contribute to the evolution of Pulumi’s core infrastructure deployment engine and cloud APIs
  • Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and programming paradigms to inform development efforts
