We are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our SOC team working for the ESA in Redu - Belgium.


You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with state-of-the-art technologies within the cybersecurity and space domains. As Network Security Engineer, you will be involved in the design, development and maintenance of our advanced cybersecurity services, as well as in the delivery of complex cybersecurity solutions.


Tasks and Activities

The scope of work will include:


  • Provide operational support across environments, ensuring systems run smoothly from deployment through ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage project execution to ensure timely delivery, adherence to scope, and consistent quality in operational outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of system performance, operational efficiency, and service delivery processes.
  • Maintain and operate classified systems, ensuring compliance with security protocols, operational standards and project documentation.
  • Administer and support infrastructure components from bare-metal to Applications on Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Virtualization platforms, Cloud environments, Storage and Backup systems and more.
  • Promote collaboration across teams and services to ensure operational alignment with strategic business objectives and service delivery goals.


Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience are mandatory:


  • University Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer or as a Senior Network Security Engineer, preferably in an international environment.
  • Relevant experience on complex systems engineering projects, with a specific focus on:
  • Design of security architectures;
  • Cybersecurity concepts involving threat, vulnerability and risk analysis;
  • Information Technology and Operations Technology (IT/OT) system security.
  • Experienced in PKI / Certificate lifecycle/management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience on a range of cybersecurity operations systems and solutions.
  • Experience with best practices and standards like: ISO27000, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA62443, NIS directive, Common Criteria.
  • A professional qualification or certification such as CISSP/CCNA.
  • Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
  • Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Other European Languages are an asset.
  • Eligible to undergo the ESA and EU secret security clearance procedure.
